Year 9 Options Assemblies
This week, Year 9 students have had a week of assemblies aimed at demystifying the Key Stage 4 options process and encouraging them to think beyond school for perhaps the first time.
On Monday, Mr Fenwick explained the subject choices available to students and gave details of how the process works. Further details can be found on the school website https://www.wellington-school.co.uk/curriculum/ks4-options-and-curriculum-booklet/
On Wednesday, I demonstrated how the Unifrog careers platform can help students to match subject choices to potential careers. All students have access to this platform and will continue to do so throughout their time at Wellington School. Students can sign in here https://www.unifrog.org/sign-in or by following the link in their school Outlook account.
On Thursday and Friday, representatives from Trafford College and The Manchester College visited and explained the wide range of post-16 opportunities which will be open to students after the completion of their GCSEs. These included A Levels, T Levels, Apprenticeships and diplomas.
Copies of all presentations have been sent to Year 9 parents via ClassCharts.
