Year 9 History Trip
On Tuesday, 28th January, 28 Year 9 pupils attended a Life in Germany workshop at IWM North in Salford, in recognition of Holocaust Memorial Day. This insightful workshop, facilitated by the museum, offered students the opportunity to examine and engage with artefacts from both Weimar and Nazi Germany, providing a unique perspective on the lives of individuals from these periods. The pupils were able to explore the experiences of women, young people, and German Jews during these tumultuous times. The session provided a valuable foundation of knowledge, which will aid further study of these topics in future lessons. Additionally, students had the opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits during their free time prior to the workshop. Thank you to Mrs Firth, Mrs Thomson and Mr Crooks for driving us and to Mrs Firth for accompanying us.
