Year 11 Careers Fair and Workshops

On Friday we welcomed 35 employers and providers of further education for what is our largest internally held careers event of the year.

Year 11 were off-timetable for periods 1-4 and attended a series of workshops and met visiting organisations who had erected stands in the Adshead Hall. Workshops delivered by visitors from Trafford College and The Manchester College, as well as our own sixth form team explored every available post-16 pathway from A Levels to T Levels, from BTECs and Diplomas to Apprenticeships.

Students also enjoyed an hour chatting with our visiting employers. Rolls Royce, AJ Bell, KPMG, The National Trust and the Armed Forces were joined by large local employers such as Myerson, Pozzoni, FK Group and many more. It was great to see so many students engaging in meaningful conversations throughout the day, and especially valuable for many of our Sixth Formers who are considering degree apprenticeships to be able to make direct contact with relevant companies.

Students also spent time exploring their own potential careers on Unifrog during the course of the day. Unifrog offers unbiased careers advice and a plethora of features which are invaluable to students considering their next steps. I would encourage students and parents to use the platform together in order to make the most informed careers choices.
