Year 10 GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition – Fish Practical
On Friday 29th November, the GCSE Food classes went on a visit to Trafford College, where they learnt how to fillet a fish. Paul Taylor from Trafford College then vacuum packed the fish for us to bring back to school where it has been kept in the freezer ready for cooking.
This week we have finally had an opportunity to produce a range of dishes using the fish the pupils filleted. Pupils were tasked with researching their own recipe for Sea Bream and then planned how they would make the dish, presenting all the information in a detailed time plan.
Pupils then followed their time plan to produce a delicious range of products. Next week we will be looking at the nutritional aspects of each dish and discussing the sensory appeal.
Fantastic effort everyone.
