Wellington Debating Society

After school in Room 9 on Thursday, we debated whether people should be allowed to marry more than one person at the same time. A number of great arguments came up based on freedom of choice, discrimination, the effect on vulnerable people, and even how animals tend to prefer monogamy over polygamy. However, the team of Maiko Fairbrother and Eva Barton won out – making a very strong case for what would be best for the children of such unions. The team of Sourish Chanda and Georgia Holmes came a close second. Well done all – a great debate.
