Vocal Workshop
On Wednesday members of Sing and the Year 10 Music GCSE group were treated to a vocal workshop and singing masterclass run by Nicole Boardman, a classically trained opera singer who also teaches at LIPA and Trafford Music service. They students participated in different types of vocal warm up exercises and games – the most intriguing of which was trying to keep a polystyrene ball in the air for as long as you could! 3 of our Year 10 students then volunteered to take part in a masterclass where they performed and then received feedback on it from but all in front of an audience of their peers. Leah, Prisha and Marlis all performed their pieces brilliantly and with a few tweaks and suggestions from Nicole somehow managed to show even more progress and improve already impressive performances.
It will be Sing with 7’s turn on Wednesday 26th February and this will be followed by another masterclass and I for one am looking forward to seeing the 7s in action.
Nicole also leads Young Voices, the senior choir at Trafford Music Service and they are looking for new members to join this already fast growing ensemble. The choir is free to join and takes place at the Claremont Centre. If anyone is interested in joining then more information can be found here: https://www.traffordmusicservice.co.uk/ensembles
