Timperley Nursing Home Visit to Wellington
On Monday this week, we had a visit from three elderly residents from a local care home along with two staff members. They came to visit a group of our Year 10 sociologists, bringing with them thoughtfully prepared Easter hampers. This was to say thank you for the Christmas Hampers we delivered in December, that our whole school community kindly donated to! The students were delighted by the surprise gesture, as the hampers were filled with festive treats and goodies. The visit provided a heart warming opportunity for intergenerational connection, with the students engaging in meaningful conversations and learning more about the experiences of the elderly residents, hearing their stories of scouting for Manchester City Football Club or even how much longer their school skirts would have been! It was a touching reminder of the value of kindness and community spirit. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with Timperley Nursing Home and the wider community.
Well done to our Year 10s for being so welcoming and respectful, you did both the school and yourselves very proud!
