Sixth Form AA Talk
On Wednesday of this week, we were fortunate enough to have two guest speakers, Wendy and Alex from Alcoholics Anonymous speak to the Sixth form. The speakers were very open with our students about their illness and spoke about their life stories and recovery aided by the support of the AA. The students were extremely respectful and asked some brilliant questions to both of our guest speakers. Eloise Burns from year 12 said the following…
“I found the talks extremely eye-opening and was surprised by some elements such as the lady being alcoholic whilst still holding down her job as a solicitor. I also found myself feeling emotional as I left the talk due to the depth and detail the speakers went into. I definitely understand the consequences of alcohol a lot better. I found the opportunity to ask questions really helpful too as it led to a deeper discussion about the speakers experience”.
We look forward to welcoming Wendy and Alex back into School next year.
