On Tuesday our Year 11 Netball team travelled down to Loughborough for the Sisters n Sport National finals. It took a while to get into it, but despite their best efforts, the team unfortunately lost to Plymouth College. 

Following this we went on a tour of the University, getting a closer look at the excellent sports facilities and what campus life looks like as a uni student there. Before the finals, the girls were taken for professional style photos, which added to the experience, photos to follow…

In the final, the girls played Queen Ethelburga’s College, from the first whistle it was clear our girls wanted the win, turning over their mistakes at any opportunity. It was a close game to start, but after half time Wellington started to take a convincing lead, securing their position in 3rd place. 

At the end of the tournament, the girls were presented their bronze  medals by South African International Shadine Van Der Merwe. A special mention to Malia Ferguson who was selected and awarded Player of the Trophy.
