International Women in Engineering Day
This year was the second run of our bridge building competition to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day 2023. We had an impressive turn-out of future engineers from Years 7 to 9, who were tasked with building the strongest bridge possible using only cardboard, paper and Sellotape. There were many excellent constructions but the winning teams’ bridges managed to support a, truly massive, mass of 1.8 kg before buckling! Well done to joint winners Ruby Wang, Leyla Shi, Anita Duggal, Jessica Kirkup, Mia McAllester, Athena Tse and Priscilla Wong. Runners up Jasmine Hallett and Ava Cockayne also managed to support a respectable 0.7 kg. A huge well done to everyone involved.
Also, well done to 7SHG, 8HTY and 10SCE who won the engineering quiz in their tutor groups!
