Huge congratulations to the girls U14 hockey team who represented Greater Manchester at the North West tournament on Tuesday. We topped our pool easily beating Kirkby Stephen Grammar and King William College from the Isle of Man. We then faced Kings Macclesfield in the semi final. Despite putting up a strong fight we came second to them ! This meant we played for 3/4th place and at the final whistle it was 0-0. Shuffles are a 1v1 attacker v keeper shoot out where you have 8 seconds to score. Thankfully we’d practiced these the night before so our 5 players stepped up well. Our keeper Evie was fantastic and saved all but 1. This meant we won 4-1 on shuffles and placed us 3rd the in North West! A fantastic achievement! I am so proud of all the girls who played. A mention must go to Evie the GK who played brilliantly all day but the girl went to tournament Emma Blackburn from Year 8 for her consistent tackles.
