HE+ Conference

On Thursday, 22 Year 12 students spent the morning at Cheadle Hulme High School for the launch conference of HE+. This is an academic enrichment programme led by the University of Cambridge and runs from January of Year 12 to September of Year 13. Students applied for the scheme in the Autumn term and those who were successful are now enrolled on an online programme of lectures, webinars and masterclasses.
At the conference, they had the opportunity to hear from a guest speaker – an Admissions Officer at Clare College. She advised them on what makes a strong UCAS Personal Statement and what competitive universities are looking for in an application. They then engaged in super-curricular activities in small groups and discussed how they might start preparing for their university application now.
Here are some photos of them note taking and deep in thought, using their phones to research via https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news. They also had a well deserved coffee break!
