Biology in Action Trip (Year 12 & 13)
On Tuesday a mixed group of Biology students from Year 12 and 13 travelled into Manchester to attend the Biology in Action seminar conference. There were 5 sessions during the conference with leading scientists discussing a range of Biology topics from how to save an almost extinct species to what it would be like if humans had ears like chickens! There was also a very useful session focusing on exam skills and technique focusing on maximising marks on A-Level papers and every speaker gave some inspiring advice on how their education had led them into their current roles.
All students gave positive feedback about their experience and everyone seemed to have a favourite speaker, although there no consensus on who was the most engaging and inspiring personality. The pupils conduced themselves magnificently and were true ambassadors for Wellington. A grand day was had by all, and this trip will now become a permanent fixture on the Science department calendar!
