Ask a Justice Event

On Thursday morning Year 12 Politics Students had the privilege of asking Supreme Court Justice Lord Leggatt a series of questions related to politics, the judiciary and the law.

10 students asked a range of intriguing questions; from the skills needed to be a good lawyer, to the intricacies of the Human Rights Act of 1998, the impact of technological advances on the law and the balance of power in the UK between the executive and judiciary. Lord Leggatt was extremely kind by giving a great deal of time and consideration to his responses and facilitating discussions on the various topics.

The supreme court have been in touch to say:

“I would  like to thank your students for their sophisticated and engaging questions – Lord Leggatt really enjoyed the session earlier this morning.

It was great to have questions and discussions range from the powers and responsibilities of the UK Supreme Court, comparisons with the judiciary in the US, comments on international law, and careers in law.”

Wellington cannot thank Lord Leggatt and Liam Fox at the UK Supreme Court enough for such an exciting and engaging opportunity.
