As part of the modern American film studies unit of the exam, the students study the 2019 Joker film directed by Todd Phillips – and with the release of the sequel ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ this month it was the ideal opportunity to see the director’s new vision. 

 

Cultivating a love of film as well as a critical, analytical perspective is an essential skill in A level film studies and the more we can encourage this the better.
