World Book Day 2025
World Book Day 2025 was a fantastic celebration, filled with fun, creativity, and, of course, plenty of books. As always, staff got into the spirit, dressing up in fabulous costumes—proving once again that reading isn’t just educational, it’s entertaining too!
The Maths Department made sure the day was both fun and educational, while the English Department went all out with a fairy tale theme, featuring a couple of Big Bad Wolves on the loose. Meanwhile, pupils were on the lookout for the many hidden ‘Wallys’ scattered around the school.
The day wasn’t just about costumes—there were plenty of activities to get everyone involved. Book quizzes in tutor time tested students’ literary knowledge, with a special shoutout to 7RGN and 7SCE for achieving full marks! Pupils also had the chance to swap their old books for new(ish) reads in the LRC, keeping the love of reading alive and well.
Competitions were everywhere, from Literary Cluedo to a hunt for literary addresses on teachers’ doors; room 30 became Bagshot Row for the day and room 29 was Jordan College, Oxford (any idea who lives here?) There is still time to enter the Design-a-Book-Token competition, and the cake stall was a huge success, raising money for Friends of Frankie’s. A special mention goes to Lucie 8MRN and Alia 8SBN for their brilliant winning cake, and a fabulous Wonderland themed cake from Jemima 7ACE- masterpieces both; as delicious as they were artistic!
So, a huge thank you to everyone who took part – same time next year?
