Yet more success.

After doing so well at the U14 North West event we were hopeful for a great display at the U13 Greater Manchester tournament this week. The girls did not disappoint. Coming second in their pool after beating AGGS 8-0, we went on to face Stockport Grammar in the semis who thought they had the upper hand having topped their pool. They were quite surprised when we went 1-0 up and they fought hard to even out the score but Evie Kilgariff was not letting anything in her net and so we got ready for the final against Manchester High School for Girls. The final score was 0-0 so we went to penalty strokes, but we were still even. So sudden death flicks were played. The top two from the day went through so both teams had already qualified for the North West event but they tucked their flick away. We are still thrilled to have come runners up and we look forward to playing in yet another North West hockey tournament in March!
Congratulations to all who played and especially to Evie Kilgariff and Abigail Girdlestone who received joint player of the tournament from their peers! A superb display of defensive intelligence.
