Wellington Debating Society

Today students debated whether parents should install spy-wear to monitor their children’s online activity.
The proposition, the government speakers, argued convincingly that lack of spy-wear on online activity is reckless as it leads to children being exposed to harmful content and influences. The opposition argued that spy-wear would breach the privacy of children and restrict children from developing the skills necessary to become independent adults who contribute to society. Ultimately, the government won the debate as they successfully set the tone and narrative of the debate and more adequately rebutted the points made by the opposition.
