On Wednesday, Mrs McDonnell and I, and the full A Level Literature cohort went on a lovely little treat to Waterstones in Altrincham – kindly dropped-off by the lovely Mrs Firth. Each pupil had written a brief reading profile and then everyone received a name at random! We then explored the store (after a lovely warm welcome from Rachel) and decided on the perfect read for our Secret Santa partner!

What was so impressive – and basically because the group are so well-read and passionate about reading – was the critique and dedication each student put into choosing the right book. Everyone was made up with their presents, all in personalised gift bags complete with badges thanks to Mrs McDonnell. The vouchers were well used! We also provided a little treat in a nice warn beverage and snack at Costa so everyone could check out their new reads in comfort!

What a wonderful afternoon with a wonderful group!
