National Poetry Day
Year 7 students took part in an amazing literary experience which may land them in the Guinness World Records book.
To celebrate National Poetry Day more than 200 Year 7 students at Wellington joined 1000s more across the country in a live lesson with professional poet Laura Mucha. During the event, she led the students through her writing process – with interactive prompts and messages via Zoom from the students – as she produced a special poem to mark the event. The poem’s focus was about what mattered to the students of today and what their expectations are of the future.
It is hoped that the huge number taking part will mean a World Record Title for the largest live poetry lesson in multiple sites!
