What a game!!

We played Co-op Academy Walkden away for the second time this year. Earlier in the year they had beaten us 7-5 to knock us out of the Greater Manchester cup in a game we were leading 3-0! We changed our tactics after knowing how they played and went looking for retribution. I knew the football would take care of itself a the players are highly skilled. I asked for effort and communication and I could not be prouder of how they played. For me, this was the best team performance they have had in 5 years.

We have had some good results this year, notably Sale Grammar, but the way they fought for each other and showed tenacity until the final whistle was the difference in the end. Every player made a huge contribution and ‘showed up’ last night. We are now in the Quarter-Finals of the competition and looking to play either Cheadle Hulme or Co-op Academy North Manchester.
