“Jensen is in an Elite Competitive Acrobatics Men’s Pair (where he trains 12 to 14 hours a week in Birkenhead). After breaking his elbow and having major surgery before Christmas he and his partner Joe have had the biggest mountain to climb to get back to the standard of fitness and strength to compete safely again and they’ve worked incredibly hard to do just that so they could compete at the GB European pre-squad trials this weekend “The English Acrobatics Championships” in Newton Aycliffe.

The boys absolutely smashed it, they were the competition underdogs with coming back from injury but beat 2 of the biggest and best clubs England to come 1^st in balance and 2^nd in the finals  – their combined overall score for all 3 routines put them in the first place but due to the finals taking precedence they ended in silver position by being beat by 0.17 of a point, we’re incredibly proud of their comeback and it’s 99% looking they are being considered for the European main Squad selections in July, they were sized for the kit before we left yesterday (our coach is awaiting confirmation – so everything crossed!!) either way they’ll still be representing the North at the British Championships in July in Telford which will be live screened by BG Score (British Gymnastics).”
