French Exchange

We said goodbye to our French friends on Thursday 30^th March after a week packed full of trips, lessons, social gatherings outside of school and a final farewell party in school on Wednesday evening, where we enjoyed a bring and share meal and shared stories of our experiences during the week. 

Monday was the English students’ chance to accompany their partners on a trip to Liverpool, visiting the Beatles Story Museum and docks, as well as some shopping time in Liverpool One. On Tuesday the French students went to Quarry Bank Mill to learn about the industrial revolution and living conditions for children in the UK at the time. On Wednesday our partners joined us in lessons all day. There has been a lovely buzz around school with Wellington pupils greeting our French friends (in French!) on the corridors and enjoying learning about our similarities and differences as the week has progressed.

There were some tears as we waved off our partners on Thursday afternoon. However, this was not goodbye, but ‘à bientôt’ as we will return to visit them in Marcq-en-Baroeul in May!
