Berlin Trip March 2023

35 Year 10 GCSE students and 5 Year 12 A level students went on a 4-day visit to Berlin this week. We stayed in the Hotel Transit Loft in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin. Visits included a walking tour of Berlin, which included walking to the Museum Island, the book burning memorial at Bebelplatz, the memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe, the site of Hitler’s bunker and finally the Brandenburg Gate. Wellington students also visited several museums, including Checkpoint Charlie and the Culture Brewery to find out about everyday life in the former East Germany. We did a lot of walking, including walking along the site of the Berlin Wall. There was also a trip to the Olympic Stadium and home ground of Bertha BSC. After all that walking students were able to go up the TV tower and have a 360° panorama view of the city. We were really proud of our students, who demonstrated excellent behaviour at all times and were fantastic ambassadors for our school community.
