LRC News
November is a busy month in the LRC; we have a remembrance display full of stories and facts about the act of remembrance and what it means to you. Autumn is a time for cosy reads – as the nights draw in, the fires are lit, and we can hunker down under a blanket with our favourite book.
The pupils have been investigating our new LRC webapp. Pupils can view the library catalogue, reserve books, compile a wish list, view subject specific reading lists, write reviews and look at suggestions for their next read based on their interests and past borrowing history.
I also wanted to share with parents/carers/pupils the BorrowBox Library app. Borrowbox gives you free access to a huge range of ebooks and eAudiobooks that you can read or listen to on digital devices such as phones, tablets or computers. You need to be a member of a Trafford Library and you will need your membership pin number.
Also, Pressreader is a free service that gives you access to over 7,000 newspapers and magazines from the UK and all over the world via your Trafford library card.
Don’t forget to check out the Literacy resources section (under the curriculum tab) on the school website which has lots of useful advice on encouraging your child to read along with helpful book lists and links to useful websites.
